Vietnamese Cooking Episode 1 : Banh Khot
These little savory pancakes with shrimp are one of my favorite appetizers/light meals to order at Vietnamese restaurants and they're so easy to make at home. I hope you enjoy my take on this dish!
*Ingredients*
1 packet Bánh Khọt flour
1 can Coco Rico (coconut soda)
1 can coconut milk
2 tsp turmeric powder
1 shallot finely chopped
green onion
1 lb shrimp
1 package dried shrimp
black pepper
fish sauce
vegetable oil
Nước chấm (Dipping sauce) Recipe
1 clove minced garlic
5 tbs sugar
1 tsp chili paste (or to taste)
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup fish sauce
juice of 1/2-1 lime (to taste)
Dissolve sugar in warm water, add fish sauce and stir. Add the rest of the ingredients and chill in the fridge before serving.
