Kanoniczna Street, which runs towards Wawel parallel with Grodzka Street, is arguably Krakow's prettiest, and provides the location for one of the city's - if not the entire country's - finest restaurants. Copernicus, the Michelin recommended restaurant in the exclusive hotel of the same name, is somewhere where the art of fine dining in beautiful surroundings is very much alive and flourishing.
The hotel is one frequently chosen by the famous and influential - George W. Bush, Helmut Kohl and Prince Charles are among the notable names in the visitors' book - for its discreet comfort and luxury, and its excellent views of the Old Town and the Royal Castle. Fortunately, non-residents can experience some of this by dining in the restaurant, which boasts renaissance ceilings, genuine frescoes and a charming glass-covered courtyard.
