Camões Square in Lisbon Portugal is located between Chiado and Barrio Alto. Its central location and ease of Metro access have made it Lisbon’s main meeting place. There are two churches facing one another, the ground is covered in patterned cobblestone and a bronze monument to Portugal’s famous poet Luis de Camoes is the focal point. Many shops and restaurants surround the square. Chiado is the place to go to hear traditional Fado music and walk up the hill to Barrio Alto, a hot spot for Lisbon nightlife. Be sure to visit Camões Square while in Lisbon, you may get lucky and see #altacena jam with the crowd.
