sigmoid volvulus is not an uncommon condition. because of the huge dilatation of the sigmoid, laparoscopic management is difficult, If the sigmoid torsion is deflated by manuring the endoscope across the torsion, the whole sigmoid is decompressed and we get enough space for laparoscopic management of sigmoid torsion.
