Have you heard the exciting news from Instagram only released a few hours ago about IG monetization? Instagram plans to pay it's creators in two unique ways starting next week so you can monetize your instagram profile with IGTV ads and LIVE videos.
Instagram are finally going to start paying creators for the content they post. This will begin with ads placed on IGTV video - which means a 15 seconds advert will play when a follower clicks into your IGTV from the Instagram feed preview.
Instagram has announced that this first step into monetizing the platform and giving creators a verified way to make money, will start as a trial for just 200 creators based in the USA and will roll out to more people and countries after that.
Instagram also seems to be taking note of what's working on TikTok and that's the huge popularity for TikTok Live videos which allow creators to go LIVE and make money through their followers gifting them emojis which can be cashed out and turned into actually money.
Some Tik Tik creators are making hundreds if not thousands of dollars from each LIVE video.
Instagram seems to want in on the action and is planning to release something similar. Viewers will have the option to have a "fan badge" next to their name after donating $5 (or less) - which will result in a heart shaped icon appearing next to their name during the lIVE broadcast.
If creators (and TikTok) can monetize LIVE videos then Instagram wants to see if they can do the same.
