The Orient Multi-year Calendar began in the mid-90s and is still made today in several variations. This one, the College is unique in its octagon case in stainless steel at 35 x 44.5 x 13 mm. As a vintage model it has light scratches here and there on the case, back, and signed stainless bracelet. The mineral crystal shows a few light scruffs and scratches seen with magnification. The showpiece is the amazing calendar dial. Set in a vibrant silver sunburst dial with Orients coat of arms logo left of center, the setting dial is top with the full monthly calendar and day below. Luminous hands and indices with sweeping seconds show the time and a simple date window is at the four-hour mark. The special automatic Orient 46D40 movement, offered in 1992, featured sweeping seconds at 21600 bph and a power reserve of 42 hours. The time and date are set at the crown while a special push crown above sets the calendar function. A very cool and unique design from Orient Japan.
