This video informs you about three things the Midland Alan 42 DS Handheld CB Radio user manual does not tell you about. First, I tell you how to open and close the battery compartment. Second, I tell you about the defective stock antenna which comes with the radio and how you can replace it with a better rubber duck antenna that keeps the output consistent. The most important thing I tell you about is the HI-LO power output difference between the two battery compartments.
I show the S meter working when I key the PTT button. This demonstrates how to get the Radio to operate on high power 4watts.
