This is a story of how people try to save the Western Siberian population.
The Siberian Cranes are one of the rarest birds on Earth. There are about three thousands birds left. They are critically endangered species. They may disappear very soon.
Their habitat is Siberia. That is why they are called Siberian Cranes. Formerly the Siberian Cranes inhabited the entire territory of Northern Eurasia.
Now there are only two populations left.
Nearly all wild Siberian Cranes nest in Eastern Siberia and north of Yakutia. In winter they migrate to China. Nowadays a small number of Siberian Cranes is still living in Western Siberia They nest in lower reach of the Ob’ River and spend winter in Iran and India. There are only twenty. Twenty birds.
