Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s 17th Annual DanceAfrica features powerful movements and heart-searing drumming. Guest artist Giwayen Mata from Atlanta, Georgia is an all-sistah, dance, percussion and vocal ensemble presenting dynamic, soul-stirring songs of the African Diaspora. The award-winning Booker T. High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Dance Conservatory and DeSoto A Cappella Choir and Varsity Women are local guest artist. The DanceAfrica performances are October 7-8, 2022, at 7:30 pm at the Moody Performance Hall, in Dallas, TX.


Dallas Black Dance Theatre presents the DanceAfrica Festival & Marketplace, a FREE event at Klyde Warren Park on Saturday, October 8, 2022, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The festival includes fun, food, vendors, and main stage entertainment for the entire family.
