3 words: Dual Compound Adventure. The Metzeler Tourance NEXT is the first ever dual sport and adventure tire with a dual compound rear tire. This means, better handling, better longevity and better wet traction. The T Next was designed in conjunction with the new 2013 water cooled GS with its lower weight and increased HP, a trend we are seeing more and more in the ADV arena. The Tourance Next replace the Tourance EXP that folks loved for handling, but wanted more longevity and mileage. The Next should provide an increase in mileage over the EXP, in addition to better wet and dry grip. The dual compound rear tire uses a 50% silica rich compound in the center and a 100% silica compound in the shoulders for great chemical grip on wet surfaces. The new tread pattern helps clear water, but also offers better performance off road with deeper treads for clearing loose debris. In addition to the dual comp rear, both front and rear tires incorporate the Metzeler Zero Degree Steel Belt technology coupled with the Metzeler Advance Winding system for increased performance along all surfaces of the tire. While ADV bikes are spending less time off road and more time carving canyons and ripping it on the street, the Metzeler Tourance NEXT is in line with the next generation of bigger, faster, and more powerful bikes.
