The National Quincentennial Committee unveiled the design of the planned Lapulapu Memorial Shrine and Museum which will be built along the shoreline of the Liberty Shrine, Lapu-Lapu City. The building, which is heavily influenced by pre-colonial Filipino architecture and seafaring traditions, will be constructed in 2021 as part of the 2021 Quincentennial Commemoration of the Victory at Mactan. As part of the construction, the NQC also launched the Lapulapu National Monument Design Competition for the central monument within the planned shrine.
