Indian Railways has been endeavouring to provide the country with world-class rail infrastructure. In line with the same efforts, the facelifted Belagavi railway station was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Redeveloped at a cost of 190 crores, the station is equipped with world-class facilities. Prime Minister also dedicated the longest railway platform in the world at Sri Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station. The record has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records recently. The 1507 m long platform has been built at a cost of about Rs. 20 crores.The redeveloped Hosapete station has also been inaugurated to provide convenient and modern facilities to travellers. This station is equipped with all passenger-friendly amenities. Station is located just 11 kilometres away from the world famous UNESCO heritage site Hampi. The improved connectivity will further enhance the tourism in the region.
