Youth unemployment in Latin America and the Caribbean has no borders. 1 out of 5 young people in the region are unemployed with many of them even lacking access to the job market.
To address this issue, Youth Business International together with IDB Lab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank, developed the Youth Entrepreneurship Program, which enables young people in Latin America and the Caribbean to turn their ideas into successful businesses, creating jobs and strengthening communities.
Since 2013, we have provided over 50,000 young people with the necessary skills to start, grow and sustain a business. Across Latin America and the Caribbean, these young people are critical to future economic development and key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Our work with IDB Lab enables locally-rooted organisations in ten countries to empower underserved youth to realise their entrepreneurial potential, creating jobs and strengthening communities.
