The Norman Kingdom of Sicily was founded by the Normans (surprise, surprise) who were ex-vikings that had settled in northern France. You may have heard of the Norman king William the Conqueror who invaded England in 1066. The less famous Normans made it over to Italy and have a fascinating tale of their own.
