Very cool score! White figures believed to have been cast during the 1990s in Mexico, correctly described as such by their vendor & priced accordingly. There is a notch/tab "thingee" on the back of their suit collars meant to hold the helmets in place which I spaced over on while filming, though fiddling with them later I didn't see it as much of an improvement. A set of the even larger 4 inch Marx space figure recasts is incoming and we'll take a look at them for sure.
Bottom Line: Yes these are "bootlegs" but for the time being more expedient to my needs then waiting around to be just to be ruthlessly clocked on another auction for a batch of originals. And worth it just to have the helmets, which do not grow on trees and from all appearance are exacting replicas of the original forms. I seriously doubt if anybody is pressing these out anymore so, smoke em if you got em -- Land a set of these and then bother about with fighting over play-worn 50s pieces featuring mashed noses, chew marks, broken guns, or other such owner alterations with collector/resellers who have no budget restraints. Talk about fun.
