If you want to make your protagonists super good at things, you need to make sure you include--or at least mention--the time they spent getting good at them, and how they practiced. Arcane did a pretty bangin' job of this. The characters all pretty much had the 'hobby' of doing the thing they're good at (punching things, shooting things), implying that it's something they do for fun: to pass the time. Which then makes sense as to why they're so damn good at it. So if you're going to make your main character good at something, make sure they've got:
a) a reason they're good at it and
b) enough time in their life to have gotten good at it
