We are so excited for a new first here at Guten Yardening urban homestead. Over the past few years, we have planted several columnar and dwarf fruit trees around our small urban property, a mixture of varieties of fruits that we can't wait to harvest. And now, one of our trees has born what we know will be delicious fruits.
The trees we have chosen are all varieties that are either dwarf or semi-dwarf trees. The size of our property limits some of our choices, but there are still so many options out there for anyone with size restrictions like ours.
Some of the trees we planted are grafted and provide multiple varieties of fruits on the same plant. We also had one tree that died back below the graft line, and the result was a sour cherry tree that we didn't intentionally plant.
