Hyperlapse - walk down Myrtle Avenue - Old Town Monrovia
Monrovia is a small town at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, above the 210 Freeway and is another bedroom community outside the city of Los Angels to the Southwest. It is adjacent to the city of Arcadia.
Old Town Monrovia evokes a small town feel, with small shops and eateries that line Myrtle Avenue. It is quite popular on the weekends.. Pre-pandemic there was popular Farmer Market during the weekend that was on a closed Myrtle Avenue, with plenty of clean portable rest rooms, the nice ones in trailers. It was large and well organized. Many of the smaller farmers markets with similar vendors arose from this confederation of entities and have spread across the Southland, in various iterations.
By and large, this Old Town evokes the quaint small town feel of America of a bygone era. There is plenty of city parking in lots and side streets. You may have to walk a bit further during the Farmer's market nights.
