As an additional precautionary measure, Singapore residents and long-term pass holders returning from mainland China (outside Hubei) will be placed under a new "Stay-Home Notice" (SHN).
Under the SHN, returnees have to remain in their place of residence at all times during the 14-day period - making it stricter than the existing Leave of Absence (LOA) which allowed returnees to leave their homes briefly.
This was announced by Minister Lawrence Wong on 17 February 2020.
