The results of our experiment with making silage from Sorghum stalks (and a few corn stalks) are in, and we're pretty happy with it.
We took a little longer than we planned to test it out, and were a little worried it might have gone sour, but it didn't go sour on us. It had that nice sweet smell, and the chickens seemed to like it. Wish we would have tried it sooner, but it was around 20 below zero when I was about to try it out and I figured it was froze, and the next thing you know it was warm and the snow was gone...but our small scale silage test was a success.
