Here are a few things I would avoid if I was starting my candle business from start to finish,
1. First thing I would avoid is sneaky suppliers, suppliers tend to give you discounts, on wax, candle supplies, on you first order, then bump the price up when you need to re- order. So find candle suppliers with fixed prices!
Pro tip: Local candle suppliers, tend to have better prices
2. Don't leave out back end marketing channels, it may sound intimidating but welcome e-mails, and text message flows will make you more money than you would've had otherwise
3. Don't forget to buy tools! Tools make the candle making life easier, no-one wants to spend all day melting hot wax, invest in candle supplies that make you candle process easier
4. Avoid posting redundant content, Posting content is essentially marketing, you need to post content about your candles that others want to see, at the beginning you may only get a few likes, but that's okay, you want to focus on the top 20% of your content that outperforms the other 80%
Pro Tip: scrolling through hashtags that are in your candle niche can help you see what style of content goes viral, this is overwhelming at first but don't worry, this is just studying the market. Find what's working, and adjust you style to the audience that is receptive to that content.
But don't copy another brand, people will notice, and this will only hurt you candle business in the long run! Try to be original,
