3-4 tbsp vegetable oil or any oil you like
2 gloves garlic
1/2 of a large or one small onion chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/2 cup of barley
1/2 cup celery chopped or parsley
1 tsp tomato paste
1 tsp dry mint
1/2 cup chickpeas (optional)
Water (amount will vary, have a pot or kettle of hot water ready during cooking)
