In October, 1990 the 5308 was brought out to run an impromptu trip for the reunion of the members of the "'02 Crew", the men who restored Reading 2102 at West Brownsville, PA and brought it back to Reading. Some spirited running on the Blue Mountain & Reading's then-50MPH main line was followed by a reverse move to Laurel Jct. where the BM&R joined the then-Conrail Reading Line. After shutdown and restart, a short trip to the Maidencreek bridge near Ontelaunee yielded a photo runby and another glorious startup sequence. Continuing on to Leesport, the former RDI dormitory car was put to bed followed by the 5308 and the ex-D&H nee' RDG extended vision caboose.
