Phillip Sear plays his own adaptation of an arrangement by Ako Fujiwaka of the famous Sicilienne, attributed to Maria Theresia von Paradis (or Paradies, 1759-1824).

I was asked by a viewer to play some of the music heard at the wedding on 18 May 2018 in Windsor of Prince Harry and Megan Markle (now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex). This was one of the pieces played at the signing of the register by Sheku Kanneh-Mason on cello with an orchestral arrangement arranged by Chris Hazell. My arrangement is shortened (I have omitted the repeats of each section) to give a flavour of the piece on piano. Ako Fujiwaka's arrangement, which I used as the basis of my performance can be found here: [ Ссылка ] . I liked the slightly crunchy harmonies he uses in the middle section. Actually the piece is probably not by Paradis - per Wikipedia 'Her most famous work, the Sicilienne in E-flat major for piano quartet, is spurious, as it is derived from a Carl Maria von Weber violin sonata (Op. 10 No. 1) and is believed to have been concocted by its purported discoverer, [the violinist] Samuel Dushkin.' Dushkin was probably following in the footsteps of Fritz Kreisler here, in passing off his own compositions or arrangements as those of 'old masters'. My thumbnail shows a painting that is supposed to be of Paradis - but none of the various web sources seem to indicate who it is by!.
