PDPI (Programa de Desenvolvimento Profissional para Professores de Lingua Ingles nos EUA) is a six-week English Teacher Training and Certificate program developed by the COE to provide 35 High School English teachers from Brazil intensive English language instruction at FIU's English Language Institute and a non-credit English Language Teaching Pedagogy course. Participants have the opportunity to improve their English language skills in all areas by taking part in a series of classes provided by the institute and are exposed to teaching methodologies that encourages classroom participation, best practices in student assessment and evaluation and exposure of online and other technical resources for teacher development and lesson plan preparation.
