In the Service Bay Today at Auto Safety Center we have a vehicle with a Service Engine light and some running issues. Performing some diagnostics tests our ASE Master Tech found raw fuel in the fuel vapor line, also know as the evaporative emissions line. The evaporative emissions system is designed to contain and reuse fuel vapor, if you have ever had a Check Engine light come on for a loose fuel cap then this is the same system. In this case the vapor line of the evaporative emissions which is designed to only hold vapor was drawing in liquid fuel due to over filling the fuel tank. Overfilling the fuel tank caused the excess to go into the vapor side of the evaporative emissions. Quick tip of the day when the pump shuts off, stop fueling. The little bit of extra fuel is not worth the damage it can cause. Auto Safety Center 3700 W. Washington St. West Bend Wi 53095 262-334-7241
