In this episode of Garner It!, we explore the secrets of Mohenjodaro. Mohenjodaro is an ancient civilization that flourished in the Indus River Valley in modern day Pakistan from 2700 BCE to 1900 BCE when it suddenly disappeared. This city supported over 50,000 people and had some amazing features. Archaeologists learn about Mohenjodaro by studying the ruins and the artifacts that were left behind. We know that the people of Mohenjodaro used scales and weights to measure grain. They built a Great Bath with wells & drains. They created statues and jewelry. They used seals for charms or stamps. They built a complex sewer system that allowed rich and poor to have indoor bathrooms. They built their houses in organized grids along roads and they played games in their leisure time. This video goes perfectly with the TCI, History Alive, the Ancient World chapter 14. Enjoy.
