If you want to impress a video gamer, show him your SCAR...in this case the SCAR 16S. It will have immediate cred with him. The gun is well known throughout the video gamer universe, highly respected within those circles. It looks cool with its multi-tans and technical appearance. But is there substance in the hype, does it perform well in the real world against high value, excellent competition? You will find out here, from a trusted source. The big brother 17S (Heavy SCAR) is a fave here in TNP: it is lightweight, very accurate, and deadly. The 17S remains one of the best .308 battle rifles ever made being able to range farther and hit harder than any AR-15. How about the 16S? Here the competition is overwhelming; a myriad of outstanding, proven AR-15s and other 5.56mm carbines crowd the field. This fact diminished my enthusiasm for the 16S and the value equation at $2400 or so didn't make sense to me. But wait. What if we push aside the hype and found out that the FN 16S is actually pretty excellent? What if it shoots smooth, accurately, reliably, has good ergos, and has a lightweight form factor? You will find out here. Maybe it's time to revaluate prejudices and update perceptions to reality. In doing so you will find the FN 16S will impress you as it did me.
