I sat down with Gil Goldschein, CEO of of Bunim/Murray Productions, and learned the secrets to success of storytelling and building an audience from the inventors of the reality TV genre.
Gil Goldschein was just a young lawyer from NYC recently out of law school when he landed his dream job in the entertainment business as in-house counsel for a dynamic little production company called BMP in LA with its finger on the pulse of what moved TV-watching audiences.
In the early 1990's Bunim/Murray Productions, (link: [ Ссылка ]) an Emmy® Award-winning company, is widely credited with creating the reality television genre with its hit series The Real World (31 seasons for MTV), the first reality game show, Road Rules (MTV), in 1995; the first reality sitcom, The Simple Life (E!), in 2003; and the first reality soap opera, Starting Over, in 2003.
Flash forward to today, Gil is the CEO at BMP and oversees shows like Project Runway, Keeping up with The Kardashians and more.
