An Attorney hired by the State to prosecute an alleged gang leader was gunned down last night.
Former Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions and former Head of the Legal Department at the Strategic Services Agency (SSA), Randall Hector, was shot as he left church around 7:30 on Old Year's Night. He was said to be walking towards his vehicle when two vehicles pulled up alongside him, and the occupants opened fire.
After the vehicles sped off, the Attorney was rushed to the hospital by a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at Stanmore Avenue and Albion Street in Port of Spain. However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Randall Hector was a Special Prosecutor assigned to the case against Calvin Lee, aka Tyson, for alleged gang-related charges.
Investigators believe his murder may have been linked to an attempt on Tyson's life outside the Besson Street Police Station last Saturday, where another man died.
