Two more deaths from Covid were reported yesterday.
It brings the total number of deaths on the Rock to 65.
And with Gibraltar still in lockdown, the total number of infections in the community continues to drop, as does the number of new infections.
The most recent two deaths were women with underlying health conditions. The first was aged 75-80, she died yesterday of COVID-19 pneumonitis. The second was a resident of Elderly Residential Services, aged 85-90. She died yesterday of COVID-19 pneumonia.
The Chief Minister said the continued losses in our community are tragic, sending his deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the deceased.

Fabian Picardo said Gibraltar has now administered the first dose of the vaccine to around one third of the population. As of last night, the precise figure was 10,341.
He said it was extremely welcome news that serves as some light in these dark days. He thanked everyone whose hard work has made the logistically difficult task possible.
The total number of active cases is down to 472 today. Of those, 67 are in Elderly Residential Services.
Of the 25 new resident cases across Gibraltar today, 14 were close contacts of existing active cases.
As regards hospitalisations, the number in the Covid ward is up to 44 and 10 remain in critical care.
The number in self-isolation is now 940.

Mr Picardo asked anyone who hadn't already registered to do so and accept the vaccine when it’s their turn. Until then, do your part by following the rules. Stay at home, wear a mask if you have to go out, wash your hands, and call 111 as soon as you notice symptoms.’
