A man emptied a shopping bag full of human faeces over the head of a NHS worker in a disgusting street attack. Josh Wade, 21, carried out the sickening act on his victim, who was clearly identifiable as an NHS worker, in a street in Litherland, Merseyside, on October 21. Liverpool Crown Court heard the victim was on her way to work when she was approached by Wade who smeared faeces over her head at roughly 7.15am. He also allegedly threatened to shoot her. He was arrested near his home in Litherland, and was charged with unlawfully and maliciously administered a poison or other destructive or noxious thing, "namely human excrement", with intent to injure, aggrieve or annoy the woman. Wade also faced charges of harassment that put a person in fear of violence, namely that he "made threats to shoot her", and possessing cannabis, the Liverpool Echo reports. He pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously administering a poison or other destructive or noxious thing and possessing the Class B drug. But he denied harassment that put a person in fear of violence, which was accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service at a previous hearing. On Wednesday he appeared in the dock for his sentencing, supported by his crying nan and another woman, who were sitting in the public gallery. Lloyd Morgan, defending, said both he and Ken Grant, prosecuting, agreed the judge might require further information about Wade's mental health. Judge Rachel Smith said bearing in mind the facts of the case, what Wade said to a probation officer in an interview for a pre-sentence report, and "the suggestion of there having been some diagnosis", more evidence was required. She said: "It might make a difference - I don't know whether it will it might make a difference to culpability. It might make a difference in relation to further risk and any ancillary orders that might be made." Mr Morgan said he had obtained his client's consent and signed authority for his medical records to be provided by his GP for the purpose of a report, which Wade would cooperate with.
