Shakaland was an attraction in Eshowe in the scenic province of KwaZulu-Natal, along the east coast of South Africa. It payd homage to the Zulu nation's history. This open-air museum was originally built as a film set for the film and TV series of "Shaka Zulu" and is the oldest Zulu Cultural Village in Zululand. Dancing to the beating of drums, the making of local crafts such as spears, beadwork, shields, pots, and the construction of traditional huts could be seen. Sadly it has now is permanently closed.
