The European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) supports EU Member States and accession countries by offering financial support after severe natural disasters and, since 2020, major health emergencies.
The EUSF was set up to respond to major natural disasters and express European solidarity to disaster-stricken regions within Europe. The Fund was created as a reaction to the severe floods in Central Europe in the summer of 2002. Since then, it has become one of the main EU instruments for post-disaster recovery and an expression of EU solidarity.
This video highlights the achievements of the Fund and provides information about the types of operations the assistance can support.
