1) Gules a fleur-de-lis or, a chief ermine. - Dixon of Astley (or Astle) Hall,co. Chester, descended from William Dixon of Heaton Royds, co. York, fl. 1564. One of his descendants, John Dixon, Esq. of Gledhow and Westing Hall, married Lydia, daughter of Rev. John Parker of Astley Hall and had seven issue with her.

Crest – In front of an anchor in bend sinister sable a dexter cubit arm erect proper, in the hand an olive branch also proper. Knells, co. Cumberland – John Dixon (1785-1832) built a mansion at Knells, granted/confirmed 1830s. He was the son of Peter, grandson of John Dixon, a customs officer in Whitehaven.

Lanark, Scotland - William Dixon (1788-1859) was the second generation owner of the iron and coal dynasty of the Dixon family of Calder and Govan, Glasgow, Scotland. His father had come to Glasgow from Northumberland, England, in 1771. His youngest son, William, inherited the business in 1822 when it was the largest coal and iron concern in Europe.

Crest – An arm embowed, vested azure semee of plates cuffed argent, the ahnd grasping a chaplet of roses proper. INFORMATION: Page Hall, Ecclesfield, West Riding of Yorkshire - James Dixon, Esq. of Page Hall (d. 1852) had a firm called “James Dixon & Sons” that made holloware and flatware. He had sons William Frederic, James Willis, Henry Isaac, and Edwin. Helden, near Tonbridge, co. Kent - crest granted in 1565 to Gayus Dixon, gentleman.
