In this video, I’m shooting a traditional buckstalker muzzleloader with a loose powder charge that was left from last hunting season (not the pellets). Though, I understand the tight fitting plastic wad and primer in the breech have a lot to do with keeping moisture out for the long term. I would even say this method would work with a cartridge style load if kept in proper storage. A patched ball would be where I draw the line, seeing as the fabric is breathable and porous. Either way, I’m done changing out my round after every hunting session. I’ve never tried this before and was pleased with the results!
