US forces based in Zupanja on the northern banks of the Sava
river may be forced to evacuate their forward post, as the river
threatens to burst its banks following heavy rainfalls over the
last few days. The US army units based in Zupanja arrived there just over a week ago to set-up a pontoon bridge over the Sava river allowing
US IFOR convoys to fan out into Bosnian territory.

SOT Captain Robert Fincher, 502 Company Commander saying "We are
packing up our personal gear and putting it in trucks and waiting
to see if the water continues to rise. We aren't really sure if
it's going to come up to high but we will be ready if it does.
(Question re rising water)
SOT continues: "I heard from my superiors the water is crested
upstream, however the water looks like it continues to rise so we
are moving our equipment up to higher ground. But i really have no
numbers on how fast it's rising or if it really is rising"
