The US, EU and African Union have praised Joseph Kabila's decision not to seek a third term as president of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kabila is instead supporting close ally Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary.
But some of his critics say Kabila's legacy is badly tainted.
