Located on the foothills of Ajodhya range in Purulia district of West Bengal, Murguma is known for its large dam. The dam has been built on a tributary of River Kangsabati. Murguma lake's beauty is enhanced by the hills of Ajodhya which surrounds the lake. Murguma is a perfect weekend spot and it can be visited on whole year round. The monsoon is special here in Murguma. The clouds hovering above, the greenery all around makes the place even more mesmerizing. Away from hustle bustle of city life, Murguma is a perfect place for peace loving people. It has two resorts namely Palash Bitan Jungle Hut and the Bon Polashi Resort. We stayed in the cheaper resort, Palash Bitan (details of the resort can be found in the video itself).

How to Reach

Nearest Railway station to Murguma is Jhalda (13 kms). Muri (26 kms) and Purulia (48 kms) are also not very far away from Murguma. Reach any of these stations from any part of the country and proceed to Murguma.
