Kia created Kia Connect (formerly known as UVO), to help you make the most of your new Kia by offering a broad spectrum of available features.
Kia Connect keeps you connected with a variety of features like:
In-vehicle WiFi Hotspot…
Over-the-air map updates…
Stolen vehicle recovery service…
Vehicle immobilization…
Smartwatch accessibility…
Roadside Assistance…
Emergency Services and many others.
But you must be an active Kia Connect subscriber - or within the initial free trial period - to make the most of these Kia Connect Services, including Auto Crash notifications.
Kia Connect services are provided via the mobile communications network and require a connection to the network.
Depending on network signal status, access to Kia Connect may be restricted when driving through a tunnel or in a parking structure, in areas densely populated with tall buildings, when driving in mountain and forest areas, as well as other restrictions.
If you don’t have a Kia Connect account, you’ll need to create one to activate the service.
With your vehicle on and parked, here’s how to create an account:
On the infotainment system screen, select SETUP
Then KIA CONNECT to go to KIA CONNECT SETTINGS…
and press ACTIVATE.
Enter your smartphone number or email address and press SUBMIT – a verification code will be sent to your phone or email address.
If you already have a registered account and verification code, select “I ALREADY HAVE A CODE.”
Enter the verification code you received from Kia Connect, then press ACTIVATE.
That’s it – you’re activated.
If activation fails, contact the Kia Connect Call Center for assistance.
To use Kia Connect, go to the home page on the infotainment system and select KIA CONNECT.
From there, you can
Get over the air map updates:
Call Roadside Assistance…
Link your Kia Connect Calendar…
Check the Weather…
Diagnose your vehicle…
Check when service is needed and schedule service…
Use the Virtual Assistant…
Call the Kia Connect Call Center…
And go to Kia Connect Settings.
You can also interface with Kia Connect services by downloading the Kia Access app on your smartphone.
