The universe is expanding. We know this as a result of the Doppler Effect. When wavelength and frequency in light is altered, this is known as red shift. In order to explain why this phenomenon is occurring in our universe, theories were proposed, most significantly the Steady State Theory and The Big Bang Theory. In this video we examine why The Big Bang Theory is more commonly accepted today and the evidence which lead to this conclusion.
