The need for information sharing among member Nations of the ECOWAS has been described as a major step to stemming the tide of terrorism in Africa and the World at large. Chairman, Chief of Defence Staff of the ECOWAS Commission revealed this during the one-day extra-ordinary meeting of theECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff while deliberating on the exit strategies of Ecomib troops from Guinea Bissau.
Exactly in 2012, the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS engaged the services of army personnel from member States in the peacekeeping operation in Guinea Bissau.
