Prominent activists Laila Soueif, Ahdaf Soueif, Mona Seif and Rabab el-Mahdy have been detained in Egypt after staging a small protest outside the cabinet headquarters.

They were demanding the release of political prisoners to prevent further spread of the novel coronavirus.
