This is the moment seven orphaned fox cubs played in the grass for the first time.
The seven cubs were rescued in spring 2015 in four separate rescue missions. They were tiny and needed to be hand-reared by animal carers at Secret World in Somerset. Once they were weaned and onto solid food they spent time getting to know each other in an indoor pen, and when they were big enough it was time for their first taste of the outdoors.
The cubs are called Ed, Piran, Rufus, Rueben, Rory, Reamus and Demelza. Watch as they emerge into their grassy 'pre-release' pen. Most of them can't wait, but one of them (Piran) seems a bit reluctant to get out into his new home! The cubs will stay here for a few weeks, developing natural behaviours away from human contact. It's a long process, but these little foxes are now one step closer to being released back into the wild.
