10 years into the First Cylon War, a massive invasion fleet appeared over Virgon, one of the wealthiest of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. The battle-damaged and weary crew of BSG-01 were caught in the crossfire and were forced to begin a retreat. After a bloody battle, only one ship remained: the Battlestar Atlantia.
The ambush took a heavy tole on the defending fleet. Of the five ships initially present, only two survived: Atlantia and the Aragona, a ship that managed to jump away in the opening seconds of the engagement.
Following the destruction and retreat of nearly every ship in BSG-01, Atlantia herself single-handedly destroyed the remaining Cylon Fleet.
