Edited NASA TV footage of the animated briefing for Russian extravehicular activity (EVA) 54a aboard the International Space Station (ISS), conducted on September 2, 2022. Expedition 67 cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev (Олег Артемьев) (@OlegMKS) and Denis Matveev (Денис Матвеев) (@denis_mks) performed the spacewalk out of the Poisk (По́иск) airlock module.
This was a continuation of the activities originally scheduled for Russian EVA 54, which had to be concluded early due to a low-voltage reading in Artemyev's Orlan spacesuit.
The two cosmonauts relocated the control panel for the European Robotic Arm (ERA) and removed Launch Fixture Mechanisms (LFMs) from the end effectors, or "hands," of ERA. They then moved to the forward end of the Zarya module, where they extended the Strela boom located there to reach the Poisk airlock module. In this configuration, Strela will act as a translation aid for future EVAs.
