I made a Jack-Ass lifter for my Dad's drift boat out of stainless steel. This allows the motor to rase and lower depending on the depth of the water and how fast you want to go. Max speed on this 17'x48" Wooldridge with this Yahama 25hp is 21 mph if no wind or current is present. Heading down stream we have hit 30+ mph.
