Piano Safari is a contemporary piano method which involves using rote pieces (pieces learned by listening, watching and copying as opposed to reading music) early on to encourage development of good piano technique whilst enabling young beginners to start making music from the beginning and enjoying their piano learning so much more.
This is a popular rote piece called I Love Coffee and is made up of 6 parts, each taught individually and then played one after the other.
My 8 year old daughter (the Pikachu) enthusiastically learned the 1st part on Friday evening, and couldn't wait to learn the rest of it the next day. She practiced each part over and over until she was happy, and the result is this video, of which I'm immensely proud and her enjoyment of playing the piano is just a gift to watch.
Enjoy! :D
