This video was taken by the Expedition 60 crew on August 09, 2019 at 22:34:00 to 22:05:03 GMT while on board the International Space Station. The sequence begins over the Southern Atlantic Ocean and moves northeast across Africa. Amidst flashes of lightning, the nighttime lights of Tripoli stand out along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Sicily and Southern Italy are then illuminated in the left of the frame, the shot continues northeast as major illuminated cities like, Athens, Istanbul, and Moscow come into view.
