Sergei Melikov, the governor of Dagestan, visited the home of a priest killed by gunmen armed with machine guns.
The attack has left at least 19 people dead in Russia’s volatile North Caucasus region of Dagestan.
A priest and several police officers were among those killed when two churches and a synagogue were attacked in Makhachkala, the republic’s largest city, and the coastal town of Derbent.
